Your business can still benefit. Deductions for GapMaps fees relate to the period that the fees cover, as well as any prepayments that need to be deducted in the years they relate to. For example, if your GapMaps invoice is from 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018, you could claim 3/12 of the deduction in FY17 and the remaining 9/12 in FY18.We’d encourage you to get independent advice on this deduction.
